How is My Ideal Pillow different from other bed pillows?

My Ideal Pillow is a customized product for you that addresses your individual comfort based on your personal parameters such as your age, height, weight, and sleeping position, just to name a few. By addressing these issues, we’ve taken out the one-size fits all mentality of all the other pillows available. For example, a female 5’2’’, weighing 115 lbs that sleeps on her back and a male that is 6’2 weighing 225 that sleeps on his back would not find the comfort with the same pillow. They have different support factors thus different pillows!

Do children need special pillows?

Absolutely! As a child grows so does their spine. While children typically spend 8-10 hours a night sleeping, it is very important that they receive the proper support with the appropriate pillow. Many times their pillow is too large thus contributing to future neck or back problems.  My Ideal Pillow can design a pillow to support children’s necks and spinal alignment while they sleep, helping ensure a healthier future.

What materials are used in constructing My Ideal Pillow?

My Ideal Pillow has partnered with one of the largest manufacturers in the United States to help produce this superior product. Using state of the art technology, our Freshness Assured™ exclusive cleaning process provides a hypoallergenic pillow filling which is evenly distributed within their 300 plus thread count cotton sateen casing. Our luxury pillow fillings consist of Lyocelll Down or luxury Down alternatives.

What makes My Ideal Pillow filling better or more comfortable that the other pillows?

This typically depends on a characteristic called “fill power.” “ Fill power” describes the fillings ability to fluff, support and conform to your neck and head. Depending on your sleep position and results of the My Ideal Pillow questionnaire we will match you with a pillow and quantity of filling best suited to your body.

How was My Ideal Pillow developed?

The design and ingenuity behind the My Ideal Pillow product was developed in 2004, by a chiropractor, Dr. Mark Hooper. During Dr. Hooper’s 20 years of practice, he and his colleagues had tried virtually every pillow on the market with little success in matching the right pillow to their patients. After countless recommending new sleep positions, specialty pillows, and “state of the art” sleep aids, he realized people still weren't finding a pillow made specifically for them as individuals. Combining years of research with his expertise and experience, Dr. Hooper configured a system based on varying body measurements, sleeping positions and personal characteristics. My Ideal Pillow emerged as the first computerized system designed to carefully customize a pillow to you the individual.

How to use your My Ideal Pillow?

Though this may seem like a silly question, in actuality it is not. We at My Ideal Pillow have used the best technology to design a pillow "Ideal" for your body, a need may still exist to conform your pillow by manually fluffing or compressing it. The ergonomic design and variable filling should make these adjustments very slight. Thus preventing the need to wrestle and mat down this pillow as you may have done in the past.

How should I use a Body Pillow?

My Ideal Pillow recommends using two pillows. One pillow that is fitted for your head and neck and a body pillow that is the proper length to support your upper and lower torso. This is especially useful with women that are pregnant or people that suffer from chronic neck/low back pain or those who are recommended to stop sleeping on their stomach.

How will a Body Pillow help my back pain?

This pillow will position the shoulder and hips at a 90 degree angle thus decreasing the strain the on the cervical and lumbar spines. The pillow positioned between the legs allows for better low back spinal alignment thus less stress the joints and ligaments. With less strain on your spine you can achieve a perfect nights sleep. For more advice on whether your back pain can be helped with a body pillow please consult your physician.
